Global Fund to fight HIV, TB and Malaria was established to build a global public-private partnership that brings together existing endeavors in a more coherent and accelerated way that will attract, manage and disburse additional resources. It is a novel approach to international health issues with an intense emphasis on public-private partnership, the achievement of results, independent technical validation of proposals, together with efficient processes for utilizing resources.
Within the country, the Minister appointed the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) on 1st March 2002 to serve as a focus for program accountability. The secretariat of the CCM is housed at the National AIDS Council. The CCM has previously successfully made applications to the Global Fund for Round 1 (2002) and Round 4 (2004).
On behalf of the CCM, the National AIDS Council is inviting input concerning the three diseases from the public, NGOs, faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, and the private sector, for the Round Seven Proposal to the Global Fund. NAC is looking for ideas on the kinds of activities that should be undertaken with Global Fund resources.
Input should come in the form of a maximum one page outline of the concept, along with contact details for follow up, if required.
